1. Admission Requirements
1. Hold or expect to graduate before the beginning of the enrolled semester with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Public Health, Nutrition, Health Sciences, or other related fields that have organic chemistry, and biochemistry or physiology courses from a national- or international- academic institution accredited by the Office of Higher Education Commission.
2. Receive a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.50 on a 4-point grading system or equivalent
3. Submit a certificate of English proficiency with minimum admission score: IELTS at least 3.0 or TOEFL-iBT at least 32 or TOEFL-ITP at least 400 or MU GRAD TEST at least 36
4. Applicants may be exempted from the above requirement, on a case by case basis, depending upon approval and consent given by the Program Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

8. Job Option after Graduation
1) Scholars, executives, or entrepreneurs in food and nutrition-related business 2) Researchers in an academic institution, research facility, food industry, and public and private agencies related to food and nutrition research 3) Academics in an institution of higher education which provides educational programs related to food science and nutrition, and health sciences 4) Consultants on food and nutrition-related projects to public and private agencies, international organizations, research projects, health promotion units, and food industry
9. Additional Information
Entrance examination includes written examination and interview examination.
Written examination
Specific Knowledge in Food and Nutrition
The written examination consists of two parts of two-hour duration and total marks are 100.
Part 1 contains 40 Multiple Choice Questions in food chemistry, food processing, food quality control, food microbiology, and nutrition. Each question has one best response out of four alternatives. Each question carries two marks.
Part 2 contains five Short Answer Questions in food chemistry, food processing, food quality control, food microbiology, and nutrition. The answers must be written in English. Each question carries four marks.
Only for those who obtain at least 50% marks will be qualified for Interview Examination.
Interview Examination
Research Concept Paper, in English for 2-3 pages of A4 paper, has been submitted on scheduling the interview for admission. Presentation for the Research Concept (PowerPoint presentation) has to be prepared and presented in English for about 15 minutes.
Research Concept Paper and Presentation normally contain of the following:
1. Research topic
2. Rationale (Significance of the research, Statement of problem, and Importance of the results)
3. Objectives (Lists of the main objectives of the proposed research work)
4. Expected outcomes

Full and partial scholarships are available for the qualified international and Thai students on a competitive basis as follow:
Mahidol Postgraduate Scholarship for International Graduate Students: 1x Full Scholarship (full coverage with monthly stipends), 1x Partial Scholarship Type 1 (full coverage without monthly stipends), up to 10x Partial Scholarship Type 3 (covers Academic Activities Fee, Health Insurance Fee, and Tuition Fee)
Partial Scholarship for Thai Graduate Students (ทุนเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 60 ปี ครองราชสมบัติ สำหรับนักศึกษาไทย): 1x Scholarship Type 1 (full coverage without monthly stipends), up to 10x Scholarship Type 3 (covers Academic Activities Fee, Health Insurance Fee, and Tuition Fee)
Applicants seeking for scholarship must receive a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.25 on a 4-point grading system or equivalent and have one of the English Proficiency Test scores that meets the requirement (IELTS at least 5.0 or TOEFL-iBT at least 54 or TOEFL-ITP at least 480 or MU GRAD TEST at least 60).
