Master of Arts in ASEAN Studies for Sustainable Development (MASD) (International Program)

Now accepting applications for January 2019 semester.

Application period: 10 October -15 November 2018.

Full and partial scholarships available.

In celebration of Thailand's Presidency of ASEAN in 2019, Mahidol University launches a new international interdisciplinary M.A. program on ASEAN Studies for Sustainable Development (MASD). Drawing on Mahidol University's strength in social sciences as well as its collaboration with regional and international experts in public and private sectors, MASD offers international and multicultural learning environment for practitioners, new graduates, and general public who wish to understand and catch up with the current dynamism of ASEAN+6, or to work and live in this growing region.

Admission requirements :

Plan A 2 (Dissertation track) :

  1. Bachelor degree in any discipline from a higher education institution accredited by Thailand's Office of the Higher Education Commission; or enrollment in the final semester of a Bachelor program meeting these criteria.
  2. Cumulative GPA not less than 2.50.
  3. English proficiency examination score as required by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  4. Applicants with other qualifications may be admitted on a case-by-case basis subject to approval by the Program Director, Program Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Plan B (Thematic paper track) :

  1. A Bachelor degree in all disciplines from the higher education institution accredited by Thailand's Office of the Higher Education Commission.
  2. Cumulative GPA not less than 2.50.
  3. English proficiency examination score as required by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  4. Work experience of at least three years in a field related to the curriculum.
  5. Applicants with other qualifications may be admitted on a case-by-case basis subject to approval by the Program Director, the Program Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Note: Letter of motivation (not exceeding 1000 words) must be submitted along with other required documents.

26 November 2018 (for applicants residing in Thailand)
27 November 2018 (for ASEAN and international applicants via video link)

Announcement of successful applicants: 30 November 2018
