Additional advantages of the programme
This program differs from other programs currently offered in Mahidol University. We use the tools of
Social Sciences e.g. theoretical concepts and methodology to understand and propose solutions to
manage with health problems. Furthermore, this program will create better management of health
inequity through the mobilization of alumni, the government sector, private sector and scholarship
organizations in various countries in this region and other regions to develop human resources in the
field of Health Social Science by providing the opportunity for graduate study access of potential
students who lack the opportunity to do so. This program aims to respond to the problem of the impact
of regional transformation in society and health by utilizing the framework of lecture and research that is
expecting of students.
Admission Requirements
Plan 1.1: Academic (Research Only) Applicant (1) Holding a Master's Degree or equivalent in Health Social Sciences, or be in the final year of study in the field of Social Sciences or Health Social Sciences or other related fields (2) Have cumulative GPA not less than 3.50. (3) Have at least 3 years working experience in research in Health Social Sciences and have publications in English in accredited international journals or proceedings (minimum 2 papers) (4) Have a clearly defined and complete thesis plan, which is accepted as suitable to the doctoral level by the committee of the Ph.D. Program. (5) Have an English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies (6) Other requirements shall follow those that specified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (7) Qualifications different from (2), (4) - (6) may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Plan 2: Academic (Courses work and Research) Applicant Plan 2.1 For Students with Master's Degree (1) Holding a Master's Degree or equivalent in Health Social Sciences, or be in the final year of study in the field of Social Sciences or Health Social Sciences or other related fields (2) Have cumulative GPA not less than 3.50. (3) Have an English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies (4) Other requirements shall follow those that specified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (5) Qualifications different from (2) - (4) may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Plan 2.2 For Students with Bachelor's Degree (1) Holding a Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent in Health Social Sciences, or be in the final year of study in the field of Social Sciences or Health Social Sciences or other related fields (2) Have an excellent record (First Class Honor) or with a grade point average of at least 3.50 (3) Have an English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies (4) Other requirements shall follow those that specified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (5) Qualifications different from (3) - (4) may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
