On February 15, 2018, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mahidol University (MU) and Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) was held at the Office of the President, Mahidol University. This MOU establishes the relationship and basis for collaboration between MU and MoHE. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sunee Kanyajit, Deputy Dean for Administrations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonyarit Panyapinyapol, Deputy Dean of Special Missions, and Dr. Aung Win Tun, Assistant Dean for International Affairs from Faculty of Graduate Studies attended the ceremony.

Following the ceremony at the Faculty of Graduate Studies Building, Meeting Room 408, 4th Fl., Prof. Abdul Tawab Balakarzai, Deputy Minister Academic Affairs, along with the MoHE's representatives, attended a meeting, hosted by Dr. Aung Win Tun, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Graduate Studies, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sunee Kanyajit, Deputy Dean for Administrations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Boonyarit Panyapinyapol, Deputy Dean of Special Missions, and representatives from the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital and Faculty of Medical Technology. The discussions focused on further educational cooperation.
