The Faculty of Graduate Studies of Mahidol University, in collaboration with the graduate curriculum departments of the faculties/institutes/colleges affiliated with Mahidol University recognize the importance of extending educational opportunities for graduate education to Thai youth who represent the nations future brainpower. Thus, it was decided to create an educational scholarship to honor the 60th year Supreme Reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej to provide financial aid to students with good academic records but who lack funds to continue their education at the masters and doctorate levels at various programs of study at Mahidol University. This scholarship is also an appropriate way to honor the values and goals of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the 60th anniversary of his supreme reign. |

To maintain the value placed by His Majesty the King on higher education on the occasion of the anniversary of the coronation of the worlds longest reigning monarch, an educational scholarship is created entitled The 60th Year Supreme Reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej with the objective of encouraging students and society at large to recognize His Majestys royal grace, unmatched and undiminished in His Majestys role as the Development Monarch. |

To honor, glorify and celebrate His Majesty the Kings 80 birthday on December 5, 2007. |

To expand the opportunity to perform beneficial work by extending educational opportunity to those in need as a charitable contribution in honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. |

|
To support students with excellent academic records and strong potential to continue their education at the masters and/or doctorate level at Mahidol University and, this way, support human resource development for the next generation of Thai adults.

|
To support the policy of increasing the number of graduates with masters and/or doctoral degrees in various fields of study of importance to Thailands progress and development, and to increase the number of Thai technical experts and research specialists in the process.

| 3.1 |
|
Applicants must be the incoming graduate students of the academic year 2013 who wish to pursue a Masters or Doctorate degree in the Thai or international programs, under the faculties, institutes and colleges of Mahidol University that have agreed to participate in the scholarship provision. The list of participating programs appears at the end of this announcement.

|
For the Masters degree level scholarship, applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree with honors (a cumulative GPA > 3.25), or are studying in the final semester of the undergraduate study with a cumulative GPA > 3.25 (average until the first semester of the current academic year) and are set to complete the study before the beginning of the academic year 2013at Mahidol University.

For the Doctorate degree level scholarship, applicants must have completed a Masters degree, or are set to complete a Masters degree before admission to the Doctorate level at Mahidol University at the beginning of the academic year 2013. The applicants must also have the following qualifications. |

| 3.3.1 |
Have a cumulative GPA > 3.50. A special consideration will be given to those who have a publication in journals that appear the international database. (Relevant document must be submitted).
|
| 3.3.2 |
A TOEFL Computer based score of 173 or above, or a TOEFL Internet based score of 61 or above, or a score of TOEFL- ITP arranged by the Language Center, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University of 500 or above, or an IELTS score of 5.5 or above.

|
For undergraduate students who want to apply for a Doctorate degree, applicants must have completed a Bachelors degree, or are set to complete the study in the academic year 2012. They must have a cumulative GPA > 3.50.

|
Applicants for both the Masters and Doctorate degree scholarship must have passed the admission examination organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University for enrolling in the first semester of academic year 2013. Applicants can submit an application form directly to their respective program prior to or on the day they are interviewed by the program.

Inclusion and duration of the scholarship |
|
|
Type of scholarship
Type I: The scholarship recipient will be waived of graduate tutition frees for the courses under the students degree program /Work-Site Study Fee / Equipment and Facilities Fee / Research Supplies Fee
Type II: The scholarship recipient will be waived of graduate tutition frees for the courses under the students degree program only.
However, the scholarship recipient will be paid for Education Services and Thesis Registration/Thematic Paper Registration according to the announcement of Tuition fee for Graduate Students in the International Programs, Mahidol University , Year 2013 Mahidol University.
Inclusion
The scholarship recipient will be waived of the graduate tuition fees for the courses under the student's degree program only.
Duration of the scholarship
Doctorate degree level. The scholarship will be provided for a period not exceeding 3 years.
Masters degree level. The scholarship will be provided for a period not exceeding 2 years.

Students may obtain a scholarship application form academic programs participating in the The 60th Year Supreme Reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej scholarship program. Students can submit completed application form to the academic program office of the Faculty of Graduate Studies or at the Student Affairs Office at the Faculty of Graduate Studies building (Salaya) on/before 28th June 2013.

The Chair of the respective Program Committees is responsible for the consideration to nominate applicants who have successfully passed the admission process and are qualified according to the requirements of the scholarship. |
Students wishing to apply for the scholarship should obtain the application form from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University and attached the following documents:

Process of selection and awarding the scholarship |

|
Applications and nomination of applicants must be approved by the Chair of the Program Committee
|
| |
|
|
| 8.2 |
|
The Faculty of Graduate Studies shall appoint the 60th Year Supreme Reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej Scholarship Committee, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty to consider the allocation of the scholarship in each category. The Committee members shall consist of Deputy Deans and invited experts.
In the consideration regarding the number of scholarships to be awarded each year and the selection of the awardees, the decision of the Faculty of Graduate Studies is final, without any appeal.

Conditions of scholarship |
|
|
The Faculty of Graduate Studies shall proceed to sign a scholarship acceptance agreement with the selected students and the scholarship shall begin in the first semester of the academic year. |

Termination of the scholarship |
|

| 10.1 |
|
At the end of the agreed scholarship period.
|
| |
|
| 10.2 |
|
The scholarship recipient renounces the scholarship.
|

|
|
| 10.3 |
|
The scholarship recipient is dismissed, or resigns as a student, or takes a leave of absence without good reasons.
|

|
|
| 10.4 |
|
The recipient is involved in any misconduct or disciplinary actions according to the regulations of Mahidol University and/or the program/ faculty/ college to which the scholarship recipient belongs.
|
| |
|
|
| 10.5 |
|
The Chair of the Program to which the scholarship recipient belongs, requests for the suspension of the scholarship.
|

|
The scholarship recipient exhibits low academic performance as follows:
