- Regulations in research presentation
- Nominees who fail to report to registration or do not submit the required presentation materials between 7:00 A.M. – 8:15 A.M. shall be declared annulled.
- Nominees of an international program must give an English oral presentation.
- Nominees of a regular program must give an oral presentation in either English or Thai.
- The duration of the presentation is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes for a doctoral nominee, and a maximum of 12 minutes for a master’s degree nominee. The members of the Committee may reserve a maximum of 5 minutes for questioning.
- Nominees must prepare their presentable electronics materials in the following formats: Power Point and PDF; submit the prepared materials when reporting to the registration.
- The contents shall include;
- The rationale behind the problems - The applicability of findings
- The objectives - The practical benefits (if any)
- The research methods - The outstanding element(s) of the thesis
- The criticism/the result analysis
7. Nominees’ photos must appear in the PowerPoint presentation
The students’ presentation and photos will be subsequently made public by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
2. Judgment in Scoring
The Committee will base the scores on personality, attire, and presentation quality.
3. Thesis Awards
Each nominee who has passed the preliminary screening selection and is presenting an oral presentation for the Awards on February 6-7, 2014 at S31 Sukhumvit Hotel The nominees who are awarded the Distinguished Thesis Awards and Honorable Mention Awards will also receive certificates. The awards and their details are as follows:
3.1 The Awards
3.1.1 A Distinguished Thesis Award of 50,000 Baht for the doctoral degree group winner and a certificate,
3.1.2 A Distinguished Thesis Award of 30,000 Baht for the master’s degree group winner and a certificate,
3.1.3 An Honorable Mention Award of 25,000 Baht for the doctoral degree group winner and a certificate,
3.1.4 An Honorable Mention Award of 15,000 Baht for the master’s degree group winner and a certificate,
3.2 The Major Advisor and the Chair of the Program Administrative Committee of any theses receiving awards will also receive certificates.
4. The Announcement of the Distinguished Thesis Awards
The Faculty of Graduate Studies will announce the selection of the award winners on March 2014 at the website www.grad.mahidol.ac.th. The Distinguished Thesis Awards’ ceremony will be held on August 2014.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies committee’s decision is considered final. All rights not to grant the award to any group are reserved by The Faculty of Graduate Studies if none of the nominations meets the evaluation criteria.
