The Faculty of Graduate Studies aims to provide grants to support our graduate students in presenting their own academic research in Thailand. This is to promote and support students research work in order to enhance quality and meet international standards. The application procedure and selection criteria are as follows: |

Qualifications of an Applicant |
|

1.1 |
The applicant must be a Thai or foreign graduate student in a program which is coordinated with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. |
1.2 |
. The applicant must be a masters or doctoral student of Mahidol University and his/her thesis committee must have been officially appointed before the application can be made. If the applicant has already graduated, the date of the presentation must be no more than one year after the date of graduation and he/she must have received consent from his/her Major Thesis Advisor and the Chair of the Program Administrative Committee.

The applicants presentation must prominently display the Mahidol University emblem (in both oral and poster presentations). |

The applicant must submit the application form (GR.SA.05) along with the following documents. |
|

|
2.1 |
|
A copy of the thesis committee appointment document from the Faculty of Graduate Studies |
2.2 |
|
The seminar/conference acceptance letter for the presentation and the registration documents |
2.3 |
|
A copy of the applicants presentation abstract and other presentation documents that have the Mahidol University emblem |
2.4 |
|
A document summarizing the expenses such as registration fees, travel expenses, accommodation. |
|
|
*** The Faculty of Graduate Studies will not consider any incomplete applications. |

3 |
Financial Value and Number of the Scholarships |
|
|
|
The Faculty of Graduate Studies will allocate funds only for registration fees (maximum 5,000 THB), travel expenses (by land only), and accommodation and only in the amount that will be actually paid not in estimates. The number of scholarships given will depend on the budget available in a particular month. These judgments will depend on the consideration of the Scholarship Committee. |

The Scholarship Committee may give priority consideration to an application which meets the following criteria. They are listed in order of importance: |

5.1 |
The application is for a seminar/conference at the international level. |
5.2 |
The applicant has not received a grant for a presentation during the academic year 2009 - 2010 |
5.3 |
The Faculty will only approve the registration fee at the student rate. |
5.4 |
In the case that a conference/seminar has different times for fee registrations, the Faculty will approve only the first round of the registration fee. |
5.5 |
The financial value and number of the scholarships may depend on the funds available to the Faculty. |
5.6 |
In any other cases, the judgment of the Faculty of Graduate Studies is final. |

6 |
Application Submission and Selection Periods |
|
|
6.1 |
The deadline for application submission is on the fifteenth of every month. The results will be announced in the last week of the month of the application submission. |
6.2 |
If an applicant has been given very short notice of his/her acceptance for participation in the conference and cannot submit the application before the date stated in 6.1, he/she must specify the reasons. Nonetheless, the decision depends on the consideration of the Chair of the Scholarship Committee. |
6.3 |
The student cannot apply for the grant to receive a refund for a conference/seminar that he/she has already attended. |

The Faculty of Graduate Studies will announce the results with in the last week of every month |
8.1 |
A successful applicant must proceed to receive the payment within 20 days at the Student Services Section, the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Otherwise, the grant will be canceled. |
8.2 |
The student must submit his/her presentation report to the Faculty of Graduate Studies within 15 days of seminar/conference participation. |
