The purpose of this research was to study how various factors (economic, population, educational) affect the educational opportunities of the Thai population in lower secondary school.
The secondary data used in this research was collected from the government department that was directly concerned in 1996. Variables included family size rate of shift in population, per capita income, rate of people employed in agriculture, educational expenses, and density of schools in the province. 75 provinces were analyzed. The data were analyzed using Means, chi-square test, and Multiple regression analysis.
Results of multiple regression analysis indicate the family size and educational rate. Variables which show statistically significant relationships with educational opportunity among Thai population.
The results of the study indicate which provinces have the lowest standard of educational opportunities and where assistance is most needed.
