Additional advantages of the programme


- The research environment in the department provide an opportunity for graduate student to conduct corresponding basic and clinical research.
- Student will be trained to understanding question physiology and pathologic condition of diseases.
- The facilities of the Department of Pharmacology and the core facilities of the Faculty of Medicine provide state of the art research in students for biomedical science.
- A recently implemented program in new drug development provides a huge resource of biomedicines with accompanying clinical training opportunity. This is a collaborating project with EU which will be the first program in Asean community.
- The Ph.D. candidates will be trained to raise logical research questions and conduct matching approaches to their working hypothesis.

Admission Requirements

Plan 1 Research only 
(1) Applicants should hold or be expected to earn either a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology, Plant Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical science, Genetic Engineering, Bioengineering,  Cancer Biology, Mathematics and Physics) or Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, medical relevant engineering from national or international institutes accredited by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation with cumulative GPA not less than 3.50 or
(2) Applicants holding or expected to earn a Master of Science (Pharmacology, Plant Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Medical technology, Biomedical science, Genetic Engineering, Bioengineering, Cancer Biology, Mathematics and Physics) from national and international institutes which are accredited by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation with cumulative GPA not less than 3.50
(3) Possess English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies
(4) Possess research experience as a principle investigator or co-investigator for not less than 2 years depicted by research articles published in international peer-reviewed journal or other type of academic press of not less than 1 within 5 years, the publication must not be used for graduation in any institution
(5) Applicants qualified for acceptance apart from (3) and (4) may be considered by the program committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

Plan 2 Coursework and Research 
(1) Applicants should hold or be expected to earn either a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology, Plant Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical science, Genetic Engineering, Bioengineering,  Cancer Biology, Mathematics and Physics) or Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, medical relevant engineering from national or international institutes accredited by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation with cumulative GPA not less than 3.50 or
